Description
Our friends at the St. Louis Bourbon Society have been kind enough to offer us a very limited number of bottles from an incredibly rare release.
There are 8 barrels of Batch #3 in the world, only one in Missouri being offered by the St. Louis Bourbon Society!
This new Old Sport bottle represents the next level of whiskey craftsmanship from legendary blender Mark Carter of Old Carter Whiskey Co. Mark has built a reputation as one of the premier whiskey blenders in the industry, earning countless accolades for his ability to discover, balance, and create some of the most sought-after whiskey releases in the world.
While Old Carter releases are carefully crafted small batch blends of multiple exceptional barrels, Old Sport takes that artistry in a different direction. Each Old Sport release begins as a unique blend of premium whiskeys that is then re-barreled into a single oak barrel, allowing the whiskey to continue evolving until it develops the exact depth, balance, and character Mark is searching for.
Old Sport barrels are extremely limited and offered only to select bourbon groups across the country. The St. Louis Bourbon Society is honored to have been chosen for every Old Sport barrel release to date, giving our members access to something truly special.
No finishing barrels. No additives. No shortcuts. Just exceptional whiskey, carefully selected barrels, time, and the skill of a master blender creating magic in a bottle.
This is blending at its highest level and exactly what makes every Old Sport barrel one of a kind.
Nose: Wonderfully sweet vanilla, caramel and black tea with hints of cinnamon. Honestly would love a candle with this scent.
Palate: Lots of sugary Creme Brule initially followed by a very creamy and rich mid palate. Transitions to the classic brown sugar, vanilla and some unique notes of black tea, cinnamon and rich fruit. This is full bodied and very complex, some time in the glass reveals a beautiful pie type baking spice and just a hint of rick house woodiness.
Finish: VERY long finish on this one with the sweet Cinnabon, oak and rye spice dominating. The creaminess lingers quite a while and leaves you wanting a 2nd sip.
